There aren't many traditions at mine sites, but there is the boot tree. When crew leave site for good (demob) they often leave their boots behind as a momento. They usually leave them hanging in a tree. Every mine has one and ours is no exception.

Oh hang on, there is one more tradition, that's to get absolutely smashed blind drunk on a Friday night. That's because tomorrow is half the crews rostered day off. I can hear them screaming over at the wet mess right now. Ah well only 5 more sleeps and I'm on the big bird to Italy.
